A mad, Ad Men challenge kicks off the festival at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art as Northern Lights brings together some of the region’s most creative design agencies to take on a one-day challenge to reinvent Whitley Bay as the location for a Hollywood, Bollywood or HBO movie.

10-12 pm  Screenings and a cup of Ringtons tea – Free
Pop in and see the oldest surviving advert with sound in the world (made by a North East company in 1930s for Ringtons Tea!).

12 pm-6pm For those who think young
We’ve put together an unorthodox challenge for our special guests in which they’ll be real-life pitching
a creative campaign at our very own BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. Not only will this be a great chance to witness the creative approach first hand, but you’ll also have the chance to ask any questions you might have relating to an industry ‘where the truth lies’.

Tickets: Free (but must be reserved in advance),
