Welcome to Northern Lights Film Festival 2010

2010 brings new opportunities to make a difference, cross boundaries and connect to each other. Technology has brought a chance to reshape how, where and why we share our lives. Risk taking, rule breaking and bravery have never been more valuable. Inspired by this we are celebrating the professional and the DIY heroes out there having a go! Some are trying to change the world and others are just trying to make mischief.

We are also taking this opportunity to step out of our comfort zone and experiment along the way. We are changing a festival of films into what we hope will become a festival about film, about filmmakers, audiences and stories.

We asked partners across the region and beyond to put together programmes and events that celebrate people who are taking risks, playing new games and setting their own rules. This means NLFF has a few surprises up its sleeve. Alongside inspiring guests from across the world, brilliant music events, gallery installations and workshops, at its heart, there are some amazing films too.

We are reaching out to more people with a very exciting new partnership with Durham this year. We would now like to invite you to join us.
