NORTHERN LIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL 2008
Once the UK’s only film festival dedicated to screening work from Northern Europe, NLFF has expanded its remit to take in the entire world. The 2008 focus was on breakthrough talent, and festival organisers employed programmers to scout the globe for the hottest new filmmakers out there, and to bring the most exciting and innovative debut works back to premiere in the North East.
NLFF 2008 launched a raft of international film awards and professional training opportunities culminating in an awards ceremony for new talent. This included Moxie Makers The Big Pitch - a dynamic national competition to ‘green-light’ a feature film via a public vote.
The Festival will celebrated its young person’s film academy being invited to represent the region in the closing events of the Capital of Culture 2008 in Liverpool.
