Northern Stars Young Persons’ Film Academy 2008
If you’re 15-18 years old, seriously passionate about filmmaking and think you have the talent to work in the film industry one day, then we want to hear from you!
Northern Stars Young Persons’ Film Academy is a unique eight-month training programme, beginning in January 2008.
Consisting of weekend and holiday-time workshops, the Gillian Dickinson Residential Film Camp and a large-scale production project, it will equip you with the skills and experiences to write, shoot, edit and produce your own films, whatever the genre.

You will work alongside professional filmmakers and the films you produce will be screened at the reopening of Tyneside Cinema, during Liverpool’s Capital of Culture Year and at Northern Lights Film Festival 2008!
The first Northern Stars Young Persons’ Film Academy helped eleven young people gain entry to higher education in a film or media related subject, one young person receive a prestigious bursary, one young person gain professional employment and several of the films produced receive nominations and awards at film festivals across the UK.
