Short Films: Premiere - Black Dog plus The Making of Parts 18 UK Premiere
Black Dog
The Making of Parts
Sunday 19th November, 6.15pm (T)
The fabulous Orange North Star Short Film Award has grown directly out of the Northern Lights Festival’s annual film challenge which has offered regional talents the chance to create new short films each year that the festival has run.
The winner of the Festival Prize in 2005 was writer director Ian Fenton. A year on from winning the prize, Ian’s short film Black Dog is complete and ready for its world premiere at the 2006 Northern Lights.
The evening is shared with the regional premiere of the new film by Dan Elliott. In 2003 Dan wrote and directed the multi-award-winning Fender Bender as part of the first Northern Lights Digital Film Challenge. His new short film, The Making Of Parts, has just scooped the coveted Prix UIP for Best European Short at Venice Film Festival 2006.
This is your chance to see both of these fabulous new films and meet the directors behind them in this special double bill! This event will include a FREE glass of wine, the screening and your chance to meet the directors!
Black Dog 18 UK Premiere
Director: Ian Fenton, Short, 10 minutes, UK, 2006.
A chilling drama about 14-year-old Chris, who is sent by his father to take a tonic to his ailing grandfather on the far side of the city. Nothing can prepare him for the journey of discovery that lies ahead.
The Making of Parts 15 UK Premiere
Director: Daniel Elliott, Short, 15 minutes, UK, 2006.
A tale of a man's love and tenderness, which he once shared with his wife, is now slipping away from him. A touching, stunning story tinged with sadness.
