Semi-Detached: A collection of films by Gee Vaucher 15 UK Cinema Premiere

Originally created to accompany gigs performed by anarcho-punkers Crass, this ‘film’ is a collection of pieces put together between 1978 and 1984. Using a VHS video camera and recording footage from black and white television Gee Vaucher would create a ‘background’ tape, dropping in carefully selected footage and adding eerie sounds.

It’s impressive work, particularly when you consider the technical limitations of the time. This year, we’re lucky enough to have a version of the original films, complete with all the jumps and shakes intact. A totally unique experience guaranteed.
