Rude Boy 18
Monday 20th November, 3.25pm (T)
Directors: Jack Hazan & David Mingay, Docu-Drama, 133 minutes, UK, 1980.
A cracking story of a fictional fan, Ray Grange, who becomes a roadie for The Clash. Part character study, part ‘rockumentary’ the film is a clever mix of original live footage of The Clash, public events, political demos and Ray’s own story filmed over a number of years.
The rebellion within the band and the passion behind their politics is utterly inspiring and the concert footage is incendiary. A nostalgic treat for punk rockers, it’ll also serve as a fascinating introduction for those too young to remember.
