Made in 1982, at the height of the Icelandic punk rock movement, Rock in Rejkavik intersperses live music footage and interviews with the punk bands in question. There’s great clips of a young Björk in The Sugarcubes as well as footage from abstract performance-art punk gigs.

A completely original film, it looks closely at the era and enquires about the inspirations behind Icelandic punk, articulating the real frustration with the social and political climate at that time.
