Northern Lights provides a whole host of educational opportunities, investing in the development of regional talent. For the fourth year running we are delighted to deliver a programme of innovative work that will nurture the filmmakers of the future!

Masterclasses at Newcastle College

On Thursday 16th November, Northern Lights Film Festival and Newcastle College will be offering masterclasses from the professionals covering the fundamentals of filmmaking from film production and editing to development and graphics. Northern Lights Youth Film Academy

Last year Northern Lights Film Festival launched the Northern Stars, a unique Film Academy for 14-18 year olds. The academy provides exciting production and training opportunities provided by a team of professionals from the industry. Twenty budding film makers were selected from over seventy hopefuls and we will be screening their latest films during the festival.

Northern Lights on Tour

A touring packages are available for schools in Northumberland at only £75 (plus VAT) per school!
