MOBILE CINEMA: NLFF ON TOUR

Two touring packages are available for schools in Northumberland at only £75.00 (plus VAT) per school! Please book early to avoid disappointment.

PRIMARY, INFANTS AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS
A TASTE OF ANIMATION

Suitable for ages 4+
A two hour screening and workshop package including a selection of animated films from one of the leading animation schools in Europe, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Talented animators Robin Webb and Leigh Timmis will introduce the screening and deliver an interactive workshop, tracing the development of animation from cave drawings to CGI.

This beautiful collection of five short films, exploring themes of friendship, loss and love, include The Carpenter and The Winter, The Miracle and Mouse. All films are accompanied by a soundtrack and have minimal dialogue.

MIDDLE, SECONDARY AND HIGH SCHOOLS
BLINDFLYERS INSET PLUS SCREENING

Suitable for ages 11+
A mobile screening of the beautiful Blindflyers (click here for information) accompanied by an InSET session for further classroom development for KS3 teachers. The InSET will be delivered by experienced Media Educationalist Eva Westegren, from Film Centrum in Sweden.

MIDDLESBROUGH SYMPOSIUM

The University of Teesside Middlesbrough Symposium will explore the practice of storytelling and will look at how you tell a story with images in this unique experience for schools, colleges and universities. Emmy Award winner Patrick Collerton and animator Chris Shepherd will appear in conversation with Gerda Roper, Dean of the School of Arts and Media.

NORTHERN LIGHTS FILM ACADEMY

This year Northern Lights Film Festival launched the Northern Stars, a unique Film Academy for 14-18 year olds. The academy will provide exciting production and training opportunities provided by a team of professionals from the industry. Twenty budding film makers were selected from over seventy hopefuls and we will be screening their first films, inspired by the magical tales of Hans Christian Andersen as part of the Opening Gala Event this year.
